Eirvkha Prophete has worked in the arts education industry for 3 years. She is currently an artist and creative expression instructor with Highbridge Voices (Bronx, NY), Newark School of the Arts (Newark, NJ), and Adere De (Newark, NJ). All of these companies support one of Prophete’s many life missions, which is to provide affordable arts education to children in urban low-income neighborhoods. She assists with this mission by not only educating her students on dance etiquette using Jazz and Contemporary techniques but by also guiding the children on their own creative process so they can tell their stories instead of writing one out for them. Eirvkha believes that children should be seen and heard and works diligently to make sure that is the case. Whether she is producing a showcase or putting a number together for a parade, her students' voices are what she considers first. When Prophete isn’t working hard with her students, you’ll find her making natural hair products for her business, Smooth-EZ, as well as styling crowns at The Natural Hair Studio where she is mentoring under the head stylist, Jennifer Cherilus.
